Being Osama

Being Osama is an intimate exploration of six people with highly diverse backgrounds, interests, and personalities, united by their first name 'Osama' and by their experience as Arabs living in Canada in the post-9/11 world.

The TV-hour-length documentary is Mahmoud Kaabour's directing debut, which he began at the age of 23 as the CBC’s youngest ever commissioned director. It won four international awards and aired on more than 10 International channels.

The film was commissioned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It was co-directed by Tim Schwab and produced by Rotating Planet.
